Asia Society Northern California and the 1990 Institute have formed a partnership for Teachers Workshop in 2020, to expand and scale the program in breadth and depth.
Teachers Workshop will take place on Friday, July 31 - Saturday, August 1, 2020.
The theme of the workshop will be Technology & Humanity.
TEACHERS WORKSHOP SPEAKERS
Clay Dube, Director of the U.S.-China Institute at University of Southern California, will return as moderator.
Additional speakers include:
- Anthony Jackson, Vice President, Education Director, Center for Global Education at Asia Society
- Francis Lee, Board of Directors, Synaptics
- Chris Livaccari, Head of School, Presidio Knolls School in San Francisco
- Heather Evans, Director of Frontier Research Technology, Asia Society Northern California

The workshop will include speaker presentations, panel discussions, Q&A opportunities, and sessions for developing ideas on how content can be integrated into standard 6-12 grade classrooms. Teachers will have the chance to network and exchange ideas with each other and the speakers. The UC Berkeley History and Social Studies Project team will also be available to help teachers develop curriculum material based on the topics presented in this workshop.
