You are invited to join the Asia Society Northern California Young Professionals Group (ASYPG) and the China-US Entrepreneurship Club for a speaker event and discussion dedicated to exploring the rapidly changing Chinese tech world as well as the future of start-ups in China and the rest of Asia.
Moderated by Daniel Nivern, co-founder and director of CRCC Asia, a China consultancy that deals with connecting college students with China, the topics of conversation will include a discussion of the future of innovation and entrepreneurship in Asia, and advice for individuals looking to enter the industry. A brief Q&A will follow the discussion followed by a networking reception where you will have the opportunity to chat with and meet fellow members of YPG and the China-US Entrepreneurship Club. Light refreshments will be served.

- Guillaume de Dorlodot, founder, Startup Basecamp
Guillaume de Dorlodot, originally from Belgium, is the Founder and CEO of Startup Basecamp (SBC), the world's first Startup Facilitator providing a single entry point within the startup community and Silicon Valley. SBC provides entrepreneurs with a clean, fun place to live, an organized place to work and a community of like-minded individuals; but members also get exclusive access to industry experts in everything from banking and marketing to web development. It focuses on assisting startup founders on launching, living, meeting, networking, pitching, presenting and marketing all in the same live+work location. Founded in 2013 in San Francisco, SBC hosted more than 400 startup professionals from 55 different countries and is a factor of success for startups like Yambla, Frontback, Quintly and Appster. The company is now eyeing an international expansion and in 2015 opened live+work spaces in Montreal and in Brussels. Guillaume is also the co-founder of another early stage startup called Nomad Pass which focuses on enabling professionals to work remotely. Guillaume has been featured on numerous Belgian Business publications and has spoken on entrepreneurship classes at Stanford for 3 years.
- Cyn Dai, founder and principal, Dainamic Consulting
Cynthia Dai is CEO of Dainamic Consulting, where she has advised a clientele of established firms, new ventures and their investors on strategic growth for over 20 years. A seasoned entrepreneur, she often works as an interim executive for start-ups, small public companies or social enterprises. Cynthia teaches leadership and entrepreneurship at UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology and launched the Tsinghua-Berkeley Global Technology Entrepreneurship sister program at Tsinghua University. A sought after guest speaker, she has taught at Tongji University, Shantou University, and China Youth University for Political Sciences and conducted workshops for Volunteers in Asia. She also serves on the board of the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University where she mentors the world’s top social enterprises in the Global Social Benefit Institute Accelerator. As a member of California’s inaugural Citizens Redistricting Commission, Cynthia redrew the electoral districts for the state based on the 2010 census.
- Vicky Xiao, US Lead, PingWest
Vicky Xiao is the US Lead of PingWest, a top Chinese tech media with global operations. She has over 4-year experience in covering global tech news and has a deep understanding of U.S and China’s Internet and Mobile industry. In her role, she has covered Alibaba's IPO on the NYSE and interviewed their chairman Jack Ma, as well as other executives on site. Vicky has also interviewed entrepreneurs including Brian Acton, Founder of Whatsapp and Baidu's CEO Robin Li. She also co-produced PingWest’s brand conference "SYNC" in San Francisco and Beijing which attracts more than 700 tech enthusiasts attending.
