VIEW EVENT DETAILSAsia Week San Francisco Bay Area
In conjunction with Asia Week San Francisco Bay Area (Asia Week- SFBA) and jointly sponsored by NanHai Art, Christie’s, and Asia Society Northern California, the 2017 Asia Week- SFBA Symposium features scholars, curators, artists, art critics, and Asian art specialists, distinguished in their own fields, coming together for an informative and interactive discussion on trends of contemporary Asian art from a global perspective.
Entitled “Inheritance and Transformation,” Panel One focuses on artists who are deeply rooted in their cultural and artistic inheritance, while revitalizing and enlarging their tradition with a distinctly contemporary sensibility. Devoted to examining artists giving voice to the varied and changing cultural landscape of identities, values, and beliefs, Panel Two, “The Changing Boundaries,” invites artist, curators, and art critic to examine and discuss how Asian artists see to reposition themselves in a global context.
