SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, October 10, 2024  - Asia Society Northern California hosted an Executive Roundtable with Ambassador Jose Manuel G. Romualdez, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the United States of America.

Ambassador Romualdez highlighted the importance of U.S.-Philippines economic relations, emphasizing projects such as the Luzon Economic Corridor. He also noted that security remains a core pillar of this partnership, with significant joint exercises taking place with key players in the region. With October marking Filipino American History Month, the Ambassador underscored the significance of the Bay Area in the bilateral relationship as home to one of the most vibrant Filipino communities. During the Q&A, he addressed efforts to enhance technology innovation in the Philippines, educational exchange, climate finance, critical minerals prospects, and the potential impact of either a Harris or Trump administration on U.S.-Philippines relations.
