SAN FRANCISCO, September 15, 2022 — Asia Society Northern California hosted Catherine Choy, Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Justice at UC Berkeley and Professor of Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies, for a discussion on her new book, Asian American Histories of the United States. This program was be moderated by Russell Jeung, co-founder of Stop AAPI Hate, Professor of Asian American Studies at San Francisco State University, and 2022 Asia Game Changer West Honoree.

Following Neil's presentation, Professor Choy shared an excerpt of her book with the audience. Professor Choy and Professor Jeung then moved to a fruitful conversation on Asian American Histories of the United States including Professor Choy's personal commitment in writing the book, chronology of the presentation of Asian American histories, and key themes.
