Of Colour and Form: The Art and Architecture of MA Ahed
VIEW EVENT DETAILSOf Colour and Form is the first book to be written about the art and architecture of M.A. Ahed, one of Pakistan's most renowned and prolific painters and architects. He attended the JJ School of Arts in Bombay and completed his Architecture degree from the Leicester College of Arts and Technology in UK. He returned to Pakistan in 1951 and joined the Pakistan Public Works Department and became its Chief Architect. He served as Principal and lecturer at the first School of Architecture in Pakistan, which he helped establish. He was the founding member of the Institute of Architects Pakistan and also served as its President. Our panelists will discuss the lasting influence of M.A. Ahed's architecture today.
Mustansir Dalvi, Professor of Architecture, Sir J.J. College of Architecture
Mustansir is an architect, poet, and a critical observer of Mumbai's urbanity and its emergence as a metropolis of contradictions. He has been published in several journals including The Brown Critique, Domus, The Journal of Italian Design, Marg, and the Journal of the Indian Institute of Architects.
Kaiwan Mehta, author and architect
Kaiwan has studied Architecture, Literature, Indian Aesthetics, and Cultural Studies. He is currently pursuing a doctorate at the Centre for the Study of Culture and Society, Bangalore. He has been associated with many institutions like KRV Institute for Architecture, Mumbai, Jnanapravaha, Mumbai and Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart.
