Video: India's Finance Minister Arun Jaitley
Arun Jaitley, India's Minister of Finance, Corporate Affairs, Information and Broadcasting gave the keynote address during a high-level event on Monday regarding the Indian government's new Made in India initiative. The program aims to create jobs and increase the population of skilled workers in the country by encouraging multi-national and domestic companies to make products in India.
Monday's event also featured remarks by Indian ambassador to the U.S. Arun Kumar Singh, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) President Naushad Forbes, and Shaktikanta Das, Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs in the Indian Ministry of Finance. Asia Society Policy Institute President Kevin Rudd introduced each speaker and then moderated a Q&A session following the prepared remarks.
