On Monday, Asia Society and the Rosen Consulting Group launched their new report Breaking Ground: Chinese Investment in U.S. Real Estate — a comprehensive look at the landscape for Chinese investors in the American property sector and what their future prospects look to be. At the launch, one of the report's authors — Arthur Margon of the Rosen Consulting Group — was joined by Wendy Cai-Lee, executive vice president of East West Bank, Beth Fisher, senior managing director and a founding member of Corcoran Sunshine, Kai-yan Lee, managing director of Vanke USA Holdings LLC., and John Liang, managing director of U.S. Operations at Xinyuan Real Estate. They discussed challenges and oppourtunities for Chinese investment in the United States and what implications the flood of new capital is having on the American economy. Orville Schell, director of Asia Society's Center on U.S.-China Relations, moderated the discussion.
