To celebrate the opening of Clouds Stretching for a Thousand Miles: Ink in Asian Art, Asia Society hosted an ink-themed party where guests got a first look at the new Asia Society Museum exhibition, enjoyed a live set from DJ Alice Longyu Gao, sipped on specialty cocktails, and got "inked" at a temporary tattoo station.

Clouds Stretching For A Thousand Miles: Ink in Asian Art opened at Asia Society Museum on Friday, June 22, 2018, and is on view through August 12, 2018. The exhibition features selected recent acquisitions from the Asia Society Museum Collection and celebrates the versatility and enduring influence of the calligraphic ink tradition across Asia. Exemplary works by Gu Wenda, Huang Yan, Minjung Kim, Qiu Zhijie, and Sun Xun, displayed alongside two illuminated Qurans from China and Central Asia, reveal the innovative use of ink and calligraphy in visual expression, from the 14th century to the present, across Asia and the diaspora.
