Nowruz, the Persian New Year holiday that marks the beginning of the spring, was celebrated at Asia Society on Saturday, March 18, with traditional music, dance, and family-friendly crafts from Central Asia and Iran. The day of festivities included a performance by J-Hoon Musical Ensemble, a Kurdish youth dance company from New York City, introducing the joyous and vibrant culture of the Kurdish people of western Iran through a colorful display of song and dance.

Children and families also indulged in an array of festive activities including making clay fish, creating a shared Haft-Seen (a celebratory table spread), decorating Haft-Seen frames, and planting flowers.
