NEW YORK, September 8-9, 2014 — Asia Society Museum kicked off its fall exhibition Nam June Paik: Becoming Robot with a special benefit dinner on September 8, followed by a patron tour and members' exhibition lecture the next night.

Kenzo Digital, Michael Joo, Lin Tianmiao, Edward Mapplethorpe, Mariko Mori, and Hiroshi Sugimoto were among the artists who attended the benefit dinner, which also hosted Ambassador Se-joo Son, Consul General of the Republic of Korea.

The dinner saw the premiere of Paik Variations 1-3, a live multimedia event created by Paul D. Miller aka DJ Spooky with choreographer Jonah Bokaer that was inspired by Asia Society Museum's exhibition. Miller and Bokaer paid homage to Paik's work via a digital media composition in which Miller remixed music and video "live" with his iPad, accompanied by Korean gayakeum player Rami Seo, while Bokaer and guest dancer Eunbin Lim responded through movement that traversed the space.

Asia Society members receive invitations to exhibition openings and other benefits.
