Photos: Asia Society Celebrates the Year of the Pig

Lunar New Year Family Day

On February 9, 2019, over 500 revelers of all ages celebrated the Year of the Pig at Asia Society's Lunar New Year Family Day. We welcomed the spring with not one, but two rollicking lion dances performed by the Bo Law Kung Fu martial arts school, kung fu demonstration, and shadow puppet performance of Cheng-Er Flies to the Moon by Chinese Theatre Works. In between performances, attendees exercised their creative muscles with a variety of hands-on crafts, including Vietnamese Dong Ho ink painting, Korean kite making, Tibetan yak butter sculptures, shadow puppet making, and clay pig figurines.

Asia Society wishes everyone a happy and healthy Year of the Pig!
