Last Tuesday, Asia Society and the Lincoln Center Festival co-presented an inside look at Paradise Interrupted, a hybrid art installation-opera piece that combines the traditions of Chinese opera with modern stage elements like lighting, video projection, and paper set design. A lively discussion with composer Huang Ruo, director/designer and librettist Jennifer Wen Ma, soprano Qian Yi, and translator and interpreter Dr. Agnes Hsu-Tang, punctuated the performances.

Watch the full performance and discussion here.
