  • Deftly build and manage a portfolio of 125-150 current and prospective donors, using the moves management cycle
  • Create tailored cultivation plans for each donor and assist in the development of long- and short-term plans to meet assigned revenue goals for general operating, special project and strategic funding priorities
  • Prepare customized major gift-level collateral and proposals, in partnership with the arts and culture team
  • Actively participate in donor events and receptions
  • Be an effective steward; communicate with, educate, inspire and celebrate donors to give consistently and more
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to all major donor inquiries
  • Be responsible for using Salesforce, Asia Society’s donor database, as well as prospective donor research and other wealth screening tools to aid in the moves management process
  • Prepare reports and briefings to demonstrate portfolio activity and progress; assist in projecting and tracking multi-year gift solicitations
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and night hours, as needed
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s preferred
  • 8-10 years of proven experience in major gift fundraising in a complex organization
  • A track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts in the five- and six-figure range, with well-honed skills in developing and successfully implementing long-term donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and prepare reports and projections
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills
  • Initiative-taking, resourcefulness, and creative thinking skills to devise innovative donor programming, develop engaging events, and solve unforeseen problems
  • Clear, confident, and persuasive speaker; an active listener; a constructive meeting participant; and a calm and positive disposition under pressure
  • An active contributor to a growing team; at times, putting success of the team above own interests; building morale and group commitments to goals and objectives
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and commitment to deadlines
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Solid working knowledge of CRM donor database systems, in particular Salesforce
  • Knowledge of Marketing Cloud a plus but not required
  • Experience with and knowledge of the NYC arts and culture sector
  • Demonstrable affinity for Asia Society’s mission
  • A commitment to the highest standards, values and principles through every action and decision, consistent with Asia Society’s Global Compact and Respect in the Workplace policy.
