From Politics to Padma Lakshmi: Recent Events at Asia Society
It was a busy week at Asia Society with events that brought survivors, journalists and a television personality to New York:
3-11 and 9-11 Survivor Stories
Starting in 2012, members of the 9/11 Tribute Center traveled to Japan to visit families and survivors of the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami on missions of compassion and community outreach to share their own experiences of tragedy, loss, recovery, and resilience. For four years, these family members, survivors, and first responders of the two disasters — 9/11 and 3/11 — have traveled back and forth between Japan and the U.S., in an exchange that has yielded profound, life-changing results. On Tuesday evening, survivors shared their experiences and discussed the meaningful relationships they have fostered.

The discussion was moderated by Orville Schell, the Arthur Ross Directer of the U.S.-China Center.
