A large rectangular tapestry filled with flourescent colors is hanging in the middle of a city street. In the center of the work is a figure in a headress in orange and pink holding a pail in one hand and a broom in the other, surounded by lavender flowers on a aqua blue background and framed by a yellow, orange, and purple border. There is a solid deep red-orange circle in the upper right corner.

Marcos Kueh's colorful, fluorescent tapestries critically address the theme of exoticization and tourism, particularly on the island of Borneo, where Kueh was born and where identity and culture are commodified as touristic entertainment. Yoko Ono's ongoing interactive art installation, Wish Tree, begun in 1996, makes its way to Asia Society. Visitors are invited to write a wish on a paper tag and tie it to the tree. With Colored Vase, 2008, Ai Weiwei asks us to confront our values in relation to the past.
