Transforming 21st Century Education Systems
VIEW EVENT DETAILSEducation systems can ensure equitable access to a high-quality education that develops not only literacy and numeracy but also 21st century skills and global citizenship. In September, the International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity will put forward a vision for what could be achieved in one generation to ensure all young people are equipped with the 21st century skills and knowledge to be global citizens. The Commission will lay out a financing pathway and set of reforms to attract new financing—and use the financing better—to achieve the vision.
The Center for Global Education at Asia Society and the Global Business Coalition for Education will co-host a high-level dialogue on the linkages between transforming primary and secondary education systems and global competence for quality learning. This discussion, featuring Global Business Coalition for Education's Executive Chair and CGE Advisor Sarah Brown, will include examples of partnerships with the private sector that ensure that these innovations reach all children and youth. The event will feature the recommendations from the Commission, which will be presented to the Co-Conveners and UN Secretary General during the UN General Assembly in advance of the event.
