Special Briefing on APEC 2011 Outcomes
VIEW EVENT DETAILSWith a preview of the Russian APEC year in 2012
The Asia Society and the U.S. National Center for APEC are delighted to present a special briefing on the outcomes of the U.S. Chairmanship of APEC during 2011, including the historic APEC Leaders Meeting in Honolulu, HI in November.
The private sector played a particularly important role in the U.S. Chairmanship, and APEC 2011 USA Host Committee member William Weldon, Chairman and CEO of Johnson & Johnson will join us to share his views on the CEO Summit and to discuss outcomes of the U.S. APEC year from the business perspective, which included a range of sector-specific initiatives, including a Health Systems Innovation dialogue held in September in San Francisco. A representative of the Russian Federation will also join us for a look ahead at Russia's APEC Chairmanship in 2012.
The APEC meetings were the start of a 2-week series of Asia-Pacific travel for President Obama, including stops in Australia and in Indonesia. The cumulative effect of the meetings and the President's other official visits in the region was to underscore strong, continued U.S. commitment and engagement in the Asia-Pacific. Join us on January 18 for what promises to be a robust discussion.
