Mr. Wu’s mainland Chinese background, his global business experience, and now decades of re-engagement in the China market working for influential international brands have given him unique insights on the changing nature of the Chinese consumer and the rapidly evolving Chinese economy. Andrew Y. Wu is Greater China President for LVMH Group. Born and raised in Shanghai, Wu returned to mainland China in 1993 after 13 years in Canada to serve as head of Parfums Christian Dior China under LVMH Group and headed its Chinese operations for the next seven years. In 2000, he joined Sony Music Entertainment International as Vice President for Asia to engage and promote the Chinese entertainment market before re-joining LVMH as the Group Head for China in 2005. In this role — which was expanded to cover Greater China in 2011 — Mr. Wu has overseen the rapidly growing and evolving businesses of 70-plus world-renowned brands under LVMH in the Chinese marketplace. He has personally witnessed the extraordinary, global-scale transformation of China’s consumers that continues today.
