J-Hoon Music and Dance Ensemble
Asia Society has made the difficult decision to cancel our popular, annual J-Hoon Music and Dance performance, scheduled for Saturday, March 14, due to ongoing uncertainty and concerns regarding the health risks of COVID-19. Our decision reflects the feedback and concerns we have heard from our communities, and the fact that this situation is evolving too quickly for us to feel we can confidently guarantee a safe and healthy event for participants of all ages. This was a difficult decision which we hoped we would not have to make, but believe it is in the best interest of all involved. We wish everyone in the Persian community a safe and healthy new year, and we look forward to celebrating together again in the future.
If you purchased a ticket, you will be refunded automatically by our box office.
The J-Hoon Musical Ensemble, a Kurdish youth dance company from New York City, will introduce the joyous and vibrant culture of the Kurdish people of Western Iran through a colorful display of song and dance. Their sparkling outfits, colorful scarves and upbeat music create a dazzling visual and auditory effect, and express the joy and enthusiasm of spring, while paying homage to a rich heritage that has been passed down for over two millennia from one generation to the next. Come and join the J-Hoon Musical Ensemble as it celebrates the arrival of spring and witness the passing of the torch from one generation to the next.
