Asia Society is delighted to host His Excellency Hamdullah Mohib, National Security Advisor of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for an address and a discussion with Tom Nagorski, Executive Vice President of the Asia Society.
H.E. Hamdullah Mohib is the National Security Advisor of Afghanistan. Previously, he served as the Afghan Ambassador to the U.S. from 2015-2018. Prior to becoming Ambassador to the U.S., he was deputy chief of staff to Afghan President. Among his many duties in the position, he led the presidential negotiating team for several intergovernmental cooperation agreements and the formulation of Afghanistan’s national development “Realizing Self-Reliance” reform strategy.
Tom Nagorski is Executive Vice President of Asia Society. He joined the Asia Society following a three-decade career in journalism — having served most recently as Managing Editor for International Coverage at ABC News. He serves on Princeton University’s Advisory Council for the Department of East Asian Studies, and the Advisory Board of the Committee to Protect Journalists.
