An Evening of Dance, Art, and Film With Shen Wei Dance Arts
Last week, Asia Society hosted the acclaimed choreographer Shen Wei to discuss and celebrate his work over 30 years on the world stage. Shen was joined on stage by YiLing Mao, executive director of Art Collectives LLC., for a far-reaching discussion on his artistic inspirations, working processes, and the role Buddhism and his travels to Tibet play in his various works. The conversation was also accompanied by three of his iconic performances Folding, Re-Part II, and Neither performed by the Shen Wei Dance Arts company, as well as the world premiere screening of his new short film, Innerspace.
