- Abide by host country laws and regulations on the environment, as well as internal regulations.
CDT and Relevant Companies should:
- Provide environmental protection statistics, technical training, and information exchanges.
CDT and Relevant Companies should:
- Establish an environmental-protection leading group.
- Implement national environmental protection laws and regulations.
- Formulate, supervise, and assess environmental protection development strategies.
- Examine and approve construction plans of key environmental protection projects.
- Formulate environmental impact assessment (EIA) reports for construction projects.
- Entrust a qualified EIA consultant to prepare an EIA report during the project feasibility phase, and submit the EIA to the State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA) (now Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE)) for approval in a timely manner.
- Establish a sound environmental protection management system.
- Prevent adverse environmental impacts.
- Carry out international technical and economic cooperation in environmental protection.
- Monitor environmental protection performance during the trial period of construction projects.
- Prepare pollution prevention and control plans.
- Meet national and local emissions standards.
- Address environmental accidents or emergencies in a timely manner.
