Key points (Updated as of May 2, 2022)*
In response to the current Omicron wave, the following social distancing rules are in place in Korea:
Entertainment
Rules as of May 2, 2022:
Private gatherings are no longer limited nationwide.
All restaurants, cafes, workout facilities, and entertainment facilities no longer have a curfew.
All private academies, PC rooms, and theaters no longer have a curfew.
The vaccine pass is no longer mandatory to enter public places.
Mask wearing is only mandatory in indoor spaces unless the outdoor event includes more than 50 people.
Travel
From April 1st, vaccinated arrivals (2 or 3 doses of a WHO-approved vaccine) no longer have to adhere to a 7-day quarantine.
Unvaccinated inbound travelers must submit to a 7-day quarantine upon arrival.
Unvaccinated inbound arrivals must take a PCR test on day one and a rapid test on day six or seven.
Positive Cases
All those who test positive must adhere to 7-day home quarantine.
Only high-risk patients will be moved to a facility for monitoring.
Cohabitants of a positive case are no longer required to quarantine.
Close contacts are recommended to take a rapid antigen test.
