Asia Society Korea held the fourth session of the 2022 Asia Society Korea Youth (ASK-Y) panel discussion on youths’ rights, marginalization, and discrimination.
The fourth session, Why Does Marginalization Have an Impact on Youths? Young People vs. Human Rights and Discrimination concentrated on numerous ways in which youths can contribute to the elimination of human rights violations. H.E. Joon Oh, Asia Society Korea board member and current chair of Save the Children, joined as a mentor for this session. Ambassador Oh, the previous Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations, shared valuable insights on a variety of human rights issues, including sex, gender, ethnicity, age, and socioeconomic class. The Ambassador further underlined the necessity of fostering the mindset of global citizens rather than remaining within national borders. Regita Gurung, who obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at the Asian University for Women, moderated the session.
