CTG should:
- Abide by host country laws and regulations, as well as Chinese and international guidelines.
CTG should:
- Communicate with civil society organizations (CSOs)/nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and local communities in project areas.
- Establish a grievance redress mechanism with local communities.
- Preserve cultural heritage.
- Respect Indigenous peoples' traditional rights and customs.
- Implement social action plans, including options for livelihoods.
- Assist the local government in resettlement.
- Improve local infrastructure.
- Support the local economy and the social development of local communities.
- Ensure the occupational health and safety (OHS) of workers.
- Establish recruitment and training mechanisms for local staff.
CTG should:
- Identify and assess social and environmental impacts.
- Develop environmental management plans for each project.
- Target environmental conservation and protection of biodiversity.
- Respect legally designated protected areas by international agreements such as World Heritage areas and Ramsar sites.
