The Arts Committee is delighted to invite Mr. Yu Tazawa (“Taz”), Founder and CEO of BnA Co, Ltd. to the April, Art for Breakfast. BnA (Bed and Art) is an art hotel designer and operator, started up by “Taz” in Koenji, Suginami Ward, Tokyo. They now have properties in Koenji, Akihabara, Kyoto, and Nihonbashi. It is another unique exploration connecting artists, the community, and the hospitality industry in Japan.
BnA properties and Taz are frequently covered by global media and have attracted artists of all forms to visit/ stay and take an active part in this new form of community. The program was originally planned in March 2020, heading into the pandemic. With the world of the unknown ahead of us, we postponed it. Now surviving the pandemic and with overseas guests’ renewed interest in Japan, Taz’s projects are seeking growth not just in Japan, but overseas, too.
Taz’s presentation is titled, “Stay in an Art Piece, Support an Artist—How BnA is using hospitality to empower local artistic communities”. Please join us and hear about Taz’s journey and beyond.
