Asia Society Japan Center is delighted to welcome, Mr. Fukasawa to the Arts Committee morning round table. As consumers, we see his designs everyday through MUJI products or the famous Infobar mobile phones. He is also the current Director of Nihon Mingei-kan (The Japan Folk Crafts Museum) in Komaba, Tokyo. The museum was founded in 1936 to showcase the concept of then new aesthetics of the Mingei (folk crafts) movement. Mr. Fukasawa curated the exhibition earlier this year at Design 21/21, titled” Exhibition Mingei – Another Kind of Art” which showcased the works of Mingei.
