Vir Das: 'Comedy Is Truth'

Performer shares insights into 'most censored art form'

MUMBAI, November 27, 2012 — In Asia Society India Centre's latest Asia Buzz program, leading actor and comedian Vir Das — of History of India and Delhi Belly fame — appeared at Bungalow 8 for an interactive evening centered on how comedy helps us make sense of, and come to terms with, our society.

Sharing insights into how he crafts his routines and interspersing bits from them into the talk, Das explored how comedy — which he called "the most censored art form" in India today — is woven into every aspect of our understanding and perception, rather than a luxury that we can indulge in by choice.
