Dr. David M. Malone is the Rector of the United Nations University and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations. A former Canadian public servant, Malone was Canada's High Commissioner to India between 2006 and 2008. Previously he has served as the Canadian Ambassador to the United Nations in New York, worked within the Canadian foreign and trade ministry, served as President of the International Peace Academy and as President of the International Development Research Centre in Ottawa. He is the author of 14 books, of which his most recent contribution is to the 'Oxford Handbook of Indian Foreign Policy' that he has co-edited as well.
Richard Bale is the Consul General of Canada in Mumbai. He joined the Canadian Department of External Affairs in 1986 after having worked in Africa with the Credit Union Service Organization from 1981 to 1983. Following initial assignments in Stockholm and Moscow, Bale was appointed as Senior Trade Commissioner to Canadian missions to Islamabad, Manila and Taipei. In Taipei, he also served as Director of General Relations from 2004 to 2005. From 2007 to 2009, he was a Director in the North Asia Commercial Relations Division and in 2009, became the Senior Trade Commissioner in Jakarta.
Pramit Pal Chaudhuri was a 2007 Bernard Schwartz Fellow and is a member of Asia Society's Global Council. He is a senior associate at Rhodium Group and leads the firm’s India work, he is also the Foreign Editor of the Hindustan Times. Chaudhri has recently completed four years as a member of the Indian government’s National Security Advisory Board (NSAB). Within the NSAB he has been a part of task forces on maritime security, neighborhood policy, resource security and strategic communication. He writes a regular blog, Foreign Hand, and a column for his newspaper.
