Act East, Act West
VIEW EVENT DETAILSIndia, moving away from its stance of non-alignment and through the success of its economic reforms seeks to confidently enter the echelons of leading global players. The dramatic improvement in U.S. - India ties over the past two decades, has led to India being viewed as the security partner of choice for the U.S. in the Asia Pacific region. Regarded by the U.S. as a natural ally, India is attempting to balance its foreign policy outlook by segregating its bilateral ties from other realms of foreign policy. While India and China have cultural and historic ties that bind them together, their good intentions are often shadowed by national interest. As India attempts to broaden its global impact, how might China and the U.S. react to its ambitions? How will the bilateral relations between U.S. and China impact India? Join us for a conversation on the varying dynamics of the U.S., China, India relationship with Ashley J. Tellis, Senior Associate, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and Suhasini Haidar, Strategic and Diplomatic Affairs Editor, The Hindu.
