Discussing Mental Health: Key concepts and Awareness

At Asia Society India Centre along with geopolitics, sustainability, and public policy among others, we strive to facilitate conversations around public health, particularly mental health by bringing together medical practitioners, policy experts, social workers and institutions that focus on raising awareness and implementing actions on the ground. We have been privileged to have the support of the Raika Godrej Family Trust for two 3-part series.
The first series titled 'The Invisible Pandemic: Mapping Post-COVID-19 Mental Health Crisis in India' explores mental health in the post-pandemic times. The conversations surround vulnerable groups such as children, women and the elderly. The second, probes lesser-known areas of mental health that deserve attention and intellectual discussions.
The episodes feature the renowned Prof. Vikram Patel, Dr Soumitra Pathare, Dr Prabha Chandra, Dr Sridhar Vaitheswaran, Dr Pratima Murthy, Dr G. Shreekumar Menon and Dr YC Janardhan Reddy amongst others. With their expertise, we discussed medical, social and policy aspects of the topic.
