Arunabha Ghosh (Class of 2011)
Dr Arunabha Ghosh is a public policy professional, adviser, author, columnist, and institution builder. He founded CEEW, one of Asia’s leading not-for-profit policy research institutions. CEEW uses data, integrated analysis, and strategic outreach to explain – and change – the use, reuse, and misuse of resources.
Having conceptualised the International Solar Alliance and Clean Energy Access Network (CLEAN), Arunabha is one of the foremost public policy professionals focusing on climate change, environment and development.
In 2018, the UN Secretary General nominated him to the UN’s Committee for Development Policy. Arunabha serves as the co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Clean Air and member of the international elite panel Environment of Peace initiative.
Additionally, he is the lead author of Jobs, Growth and Sustainability (CEEW, 2020). Arunabha’s essay titled, “Rethinking India’s energy strategy” in Nature was one of 2015’s ten most influential essays. As a titan in the field of public policy, Arunabha has advised governments, industries and civil society organisations including the PMO India's office and various other state governments.
