A Night of Mongolia

HONG KONG, March 18, 2014 — All you know about Mongolia, perhaps, are the legendary Genghis Khan, spectacular landscapes, grass, and sheep. In an evening presentation at Asia Society Hong Kong Center, Mongolia expert Carl Robinson, author of Mongolia: Nomad Empire of Eternal Blue Sky, talked about the origin and history of those connections in the many centuries before the Mongol Empire inaugurated the golden age of trade. The presentation was followed by musical performances by Khusugtun, a group of Mongolian musicians, and renowned "long song" singer Tsogtsaikhan Sosorburam.
