Experts Discussed the 2016 US Presidential Election
HONG KONG, 22nd June 2015 – The US-China relation has been a leading topic in current international diplomacy. With the rise of China, there are debates on whether the US and China can be mutually benefited partners, or opponents that drift into conflicts. At the same time, stepping into 2016, the US presidential election is approaching. People are concerned as to how China would influence the policy blueprint among the candidates. Questions are mainly raised around whether the candidates have enough knowledge on China? Or who will they appoint to deal with China?
A dialogue was held by Asia Society Hong Kong Center on Monday evening. Justin Vogt, Deputy Managing Editor of Foreign Affairs, and Tom Nagorski, Executive Vice President of the Asia Society, joined together and discussed how China lead up to the 2016 presidential election. The dialogue was followed by a Q&A session which audiences were able to interact with the speakers on a variety of topics.
The dialogue ended in an enlightening atmosphere. Alice Mong, Executive Director of Asia Society Hong Kong Center gave closing remarks and presented souvenirs to the speakers for their contribution in the success of the event.
