Asia Society Hong Kong Center proudly presents A City of Contrast, a showcase of photographs taken by students from Holy Trinity College, Munsang College (Hong Kong Island), Ning Po No. 2 College, Salesians of Don Bosco Ng Siu Mui Secondary School, and Yan Chai Hospital Wong Wha San Secondary School. The exhibition is a culmination of a full month-long internship program where the students learned how to build a curatorial narrative, take and edit photos and about gallery operations.

Tracing the footprints of the students’ fieldtrips around Hong Kong, the photographs reflect the special perspectives of how this generation explores and admires the city. The students’ photographic series echoes three core themes: Transformation & Time, The Unnoticed, and Stillness and Movement.

Transformation & Time

Highlighting the contrast between old and new, these photographs showcase how both slow and fast transformations affect the city. By capturing a fleeting moment in time, the students document and instigate a conversation on past and present.

The Unnoticed

In fast-paced Hong Kong, we must at times learn to reflect on the aesthetics of the unseen and overlooked: The Unnoticed. Focusing on details that are considered minute brings a level of appreciation for those viewing these monochromatic photos.

Stillness and Movement

Through black and white photographs, this series enhances the chosen subjects whether its patterns, pace, or purpose. The photographs here bring to light that everything is in constant movement, even if it is at a standstill.

對比之城——學生攝影展

麥禮賢夫人藝術館

 亞洲協會香港中心隆重呈獻《對比之城》學生攝影展。展覽將呈現寶血會上智英文書院、港島民生書院、寧波第二中學、天主教慈幼會伍少梅中學及仁濟醫院王華湘中學的學生攝影作品。在為期一個月的實習過程中，學生們學習了如何構建策展敘事、拍攝及編輯照片、以及在藝術館內布展。

這些照片圍繞學生們在香港各地拍攝的足跡，並反映年輕一代人探索和欣賞這座城市的特殊視角。學生們的攝影作品圍繞了三個核心主題：“時光蛻變”、“不為人知”和“靜與動”。

時光蛻變

這些攝影作品突出了新舊之間的對比，展示了緩慢和快速的發展節奏如何影響了這座城市。通過捕捉稍縱即逝的瞬間，學生們紀錄並引導一次關於過去與現在跨越時空的對話。

不為人知

在節奏急速的香港，我們應當學會尋找隱藏和被忽視的事物。因此，此系列作品展現香港不為人知的美學，通過關注城市裡被認為微不足道的細節，為觀賞者帶來一種別樣的美感。

靜與動

此系列通過黑白照片強調香港沉靜和喧騰的對比。這些照片揭示了即使是靜止的作品，一切仍在不斷運轉。
