Do you have a passion for reading? Do you want to meet the authors? Asia Society Hong Kong Center and Kids4Kids are now bringing you Young Adventurers’ Book Club, a children friendly program that welcome children and parents. Once a month, a children’s book author and a student ambassador will share a book with you. Everyone is welcome to engage with interesting discussion questions, and more!

Let’s explore the magical world of reading!

August’s Reading

Pin Yin Panda has beauty, brains and a healthy ego to match. So on Chinese New Year’s Eve she makes a surprise announcement: next year will be the first Year of the Panda! Will the tradition of millennia be swept aside or will this practically perfect panda be put in her place? And what does the Edinburgh Zoo have to do with it? Find out in this funny and fabulous new companion story to the Chinese Calendar Tales!

Illustrated by Harry Harrison, the cartoonist of SCMP since 2001. Harry collaborates with Sarah on children’s books, including the series of Chinese Calendar Tales. Harry has won many awards for his work including top Editorial Cartooning recognition at the Society of Publishers in Asia Editorial Awards 2012 and special prize for a body of work at the Hong Kong 14th Human Rights Press Awards.

Sarah Brennan

SARAH BRENNAN is the much-loved Hong Kong author of the best-selling Chinese Calendar Tales, and many other children’s books. Her books are funny, fabulous, and designed to get kids learning while they laugh!
