Starting 2020, members can look forward to new wellness programs to improve on your fitness. In April, take this opportunity to understand more about Wing Chun, a form of self-defense based on traditional Southern Chinese Kung Fu. Stephanie will continue to guide you through a tea meditation to relax and calm your mind after the fitness workout.

Chinese Kung Fu by Mindful Wing Chun
Staying relaxed in both mind and body to enable yourself to make the sound decision to move with higher efficiency and higher power. By being aware of the space and our bodies, to achieve the best chance to maintain the relaxed yet connected state.
The class will explore the geometry we can shape and apply with our bodies to re-direct incoming force (strikes), develop sound posture (structure) within these movements to help promote minimal muscular holding (tension). We will get to appreciate the core foundations of the Wing Chun system through its first form (Siu Nim Tao) which provides tangible ‘anchors’ we can use in our everyday lives to return to this upright relaxed, alert and responsive (non-reactive) state whenever we notice we have lost it.
Tea Meditation with Stephanie Luo (Audio Guide)
During the 8-minute session, Stephanie will give an audio guide to focus on your breathing and body. While playing the Singing Bowls, she will guide you to set your intention for the session. By intention, it can be as simple as "to relax" or "to be open". For the rest, all you need to do is to allow the vibration to work its way through your body. At the end of the session, your body, mind and spirit will be relaxed, awakened and energized.
