The future of the global economy remains doubtful with continued weakness in Europe and the U.S. As the center of economic gravity continues to shift towards Asia, what are some of the national policies can manage the effects of the European debt crisis, quantitative easing and other turbulence in the global economy? Is the sluggish recovery gaining momentum or will the European debt crisis stall the recovery? What is the role of China, India and its neighbors in the Asia Century?

J. Frank Brown is Chief Operating Officer & Managing Director of General Atlantic, the global growth investment firm. From 2006 to 2011, Mr. Brown served as Dean of INSEAD. Prior to this, Mr. Brown had a 26-year career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Trustee of the Asia Society. Mr. Brown graduated from Bucknell University and studied an advanced management program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Jamshyd Godrej is Chairman of Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company Limited which manufactures and markets domestic and commercial appliances and equipment for chemical, petrochemical, refineries and allied industries. Mr. Godrej is the Past President of Confederation of Indian Industry; Chairman Emeritus of Aspen Institute India and Trustee and President Emeritus of World Wide Fund for Nature India. A Trustee of the Asia Society, Mr. Godrej graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology.

Kyongsoo Lho is Professor of International Politics at Seoul National University. He has also held teaching positions at Stanford University, Free University of Berlin and the Korean Military Academy. Professor Lho previously served on the Foreign and Security staff of the Republic of Korea's Presidential Secretariat. Professor Lho received his B.A. from Harvard University and holds a D.Phil. and M.Litt in International Politics from Oxford University. Professor Lho is Co-Chairman of the Asia Society Korea Center.

James E. Rogers is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Duke Energy, the largest electric utility in the U.S. He has nearly 25 years of experience as a CEO in the sector, and has delivered industry leading results by focusing on stakeholders and finding business solutions to environmental challenges. A trustee of the Asia Society, Mr. Rogers received his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Kentucky.

Charlie Shi is Co-founder and Managing Partner of Omaha Capital Management Ltd., which manages Greater China-focused early growth capital and venture capital funds specializing in the TMT, healthcare and new energy sectors. Mr. Shi is also Chairperson of the Alternative Investment Evaluation and Advisory Committee under China Life Asset Management Ltd., which has approximately RMB 2 trillion AUM. Mr. Shi graduated in economics from Fudan University, Shanghai and the advanced management program at Harvard Business School. 

Henrietta H. Fore is Chairman and CEO of Holsman International, an investment company. She was previously Administrator of the USAID and Director of US Foreign Assistance, holding the equivalent rank as Deputy Secretary of State. Ms. Fore is Co-Chair of the Asia Society. (Moderator)
