Paul Bromberg will present a talk on Thai Silver and Nielloware, which displays exquisite craftsmanship and design to rival better-known genres of silver from Asia. There has to date been little research undertaken about this fascinating subject. Bromberg will examine the history and scope of specified Thai silver and nielloware production dating from the early 19th century to the present, as well as the various forms and designs utilised. He will also explore the influence of Chinese artisans on this Thai art form.
