As far back as 2500 B.C. rice has been documented as a source of food, beginning in China and the surrounding areas. Slowly, its cultivation spread throughout to India, Greece and spreading all the way to Southern Europe and even North Africa. With this widespread cultivation, rice becomes an important ingredient for many food in the world.
In collaboration with Edible Artists Global Academy Association (EAGAA), a non-profit organization that aims in promoting all forms of edible arts and artists around the world, here is an incredible platform for art and cookery lovers! Cake artist, Dim Sim chef and Home Cook Experts will gather to demonstrate how they use rice in their culinary creations. This family friendly event will provide you with an experience to have hands on making of Christmas ornaments or Rice Krispie House, and close interaction with the demonstrators and sampling their creations. Come and enjoy a session of tasting and demonstration of rice base snacks and dishes with your family and friends.
HANDS ON WORKSHOP (choose one):
Rice Krispie Art—Holiday Ornaments by Jacinta Yu (Cake Artist). With her passion in Edible Arts for the past 18 years, she co-founded Complete Deelite and continues to develop fun and creative ways to make new forms of edible art.
Rice Krispie house by Yui Chow (Pastry and Sugar Artist). As the Academy director of Complete Deelite, she continues to get inspired through using of new ingredients and methods in her baking and decorating of cakes and snacks.
DEMONSTRATIONS:
Art of Steamed Rice Cake by Pui Yee (Home Cook Expert). With the aim to cook a healthy meal for her family had brought her to finding the best secret to cook a quick healthy meal with the minimum hassle.
A Medley of Rice Salad by Agnes Chin (Home cook Expert). Love to eat but lazy to cook, she will show you how easy it is to create a very healthy salad dish from a medley of rice.
Craft of Rice Wrap dessert by Ken Tong (Dim Sum chef). From a school teacher to a dim sum shop owner, he will demonstrate a delicate rice wrap dessert which is totally edible and delicious.
