Yossi Beilin is the Founder, Chairman and President of Beilink-Business Foreign Affairs, a global consulting firm. Dr. Beilin’s lengthy career in public service began in 1984 with his appointment as Cabinet Secretary. A member of the Knesset between 1988 and 2008, Dr. Beilin has held various ministerial positions, including Deputy Foreign Minister, Deputy Finance Minister, Minister of Economy and Planning, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Minister for Religious Affairs and Minister of Justice. Dr. Beilin initiated the Oslo peace process and the informal Geneva Peace Accord, and serves now as Chairman of the "Geneva Initiative."

He is the author of numerous publications including A Long Way to Peace, A Concise Political History, The Roots of Israeli Industry and The Price of Unity. Dr. Beilin received his BA in Hebrew Literature and Political Science, and MA and PhD in Political Science from Tel Aviv University.

During dinner, Dr. Beilin will discuss the impact of changing ideology, as well as security and shortage constraints on the Israeli economy, how the country became a start-up nation, prospects for the economy and other issues. Asia Society President's Circle dinners are off-the-record, and kept small to facilitate greater discussion.
