In this TEQ video activity, we will watch the Chinese language teacher, Hong Yan’s 3rd grade Chinese immersion class at the Global Village Academy – Fort Collins in Fort Collins, Colorado. This video presents a performance task in which the students form two teams and debate whether they should wear school uniforms. The teacher has demonstrated several instructional activities, including using group brainstorm and team discussion to prepare the students for the debate, encouraging every student to speak by scoring each team's performance, which helped students to express themselves in the target language.
