STEAM and the Global Connection
A Course in the Teaching for Global Competence Series
STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. This course will provide examples of how global learning approaches can be integrated throughout STEAM education. Incorporating these learning approaches will ultimately allow students to develop global competencies that address a variety of unprecedented opportunities and challenges young people face today. Educators will acquire skills to help their students approach complex, interconnected global problems with a more holistic understanding. Encouraging students to develop these critical thinking skills will prepare them to be successful in the digitally connected world.
The coaching guide helps instructional leaders support educators as they prepare to implement concepts from the course in their own learning environments.
This course is part of the Teaching for Global Competence program. The cost for an individual course enrollment is $29 USD. Discounts are available to schools, districts, and programs if you are purchasing courses in bulk (all courses for a minimum of 25 educators).
