Obama Changes the Mood in India
President Obama has finished his trip to India after making some big statements that seemed to hit the spot.
Obama's welcome to India seemed subdued, but Asia Society Associate Fellow Sadanand Dhume says the mood soon lightened up.
Writing for the Wall Street Journal, Dhume discusses President Obama's four-day visit to India:
"What a difference a few days can make. On Friday, as US President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama boarded Air Force One for their maiden trip to India, the mood in New Delhi was distinctly dour. By the time he wrapped up his visit Monday evening, the president demonstrated that though his charm may have worn thin in Memphis and Des Moines, it still works wonders in Mumbai and New Delhi."
