[WEBCAST] Executive Briefing | Covering the Coronavirus: Where It All Started
VIEW EVENT DETAILSInsights from Chinese Business Magazine, Caixin
What can we learn from Caixin’s experience in reporting this all-encompassing story?
As the new coronavirus epidemic gained speed in early January in the Chinese city of Wuhan, journalists scrambled to understand what was happening and to report the story. At the forefront was the Chinese magazine Caixin and its English-language sister publication, Caixin Global. They provided on-the-ground reporting for both a Chinese and an international audience on the virus’ spread, the economic fallout and the policy response, including several scoops about cover-ups and mismanagement of the crisis. As the outbreak is abating in China and taking off in other parts of the world, Caixin continue to investigate and report on the global pandemic.
Asia Society Australia and Asia Society Zurich warmly invite you to a virtual briefing with Li Xin, Vice President Caixin Media, and Managing Director Caixin Global, and Xu Heqian, Head of the International Desk and Member of the Editorial Board at Caixin Media, in-conversation with Angus Grigg of the Australian Financial Review, and Nico Luchsinger of Asia Society Switzerland, for an update on the situation on the ground in China today and their assessment of China’s approach to crisis management in the wake of COVID-19.
This event is open to members of Asia Society only and will run as a webcast. Please note that the conversation will be conducted off the record. For any enquiries, please contact [email protected].
