The Present and Future of the Australia-Japan Relationship
VIEW EVENT DETAILSAustralian Ambassador to Japan, Bruce Miller, will brief the Asia Society Australia members about the state of the Australia-Japan economic and strategic partnership and what the future holds for Australia's closest regional relationship, following the conclusion of the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement and deepening of strategic ties.
H.E. Mr Bruce Miller arrived in Tokyo on 16 August 2011 to take up his appointment as Australian Ambassador to Japan. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador, he was Deputy Director-General of the Office of National Assessments (ONA).
Between 1997 and 1998, Mr Miller was seconded to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Overseas, Mr Miller has served as Minister (Political) at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo (2004-09), First Secretary, later Counsellor, in Tokyo (1992-96) and Third Secretary in Tehran (1987-88).
