VIEW EVENT DETAILSAsia Society Australia is pleased to host an exclusive Executive Briefing with Mr Gareth Meyer, First Assistant Director-General (FADG), Analytical Capabilities and Outreach, and Dr Elsina Wainwright AM, Senior Strategic Adviser, Assessments from the Office of National Intelligence (ONI).
Mr. Meyer and Dr Wainwright have led ONI’s assessments on global strategic, economic and political issues since 2019. They will discuss Australia’s strategic outlook in Asia and key national security issues Australia is facing in the region.
Following their remarks, participants will be invited to ask questions and share their own perspectives.

About our Speakers
Mr Gareth Meyer, First Assistant Director-General Analytical Capability and Outreach, ONI
At the Office of National Intelligence (ONI) since 2012, Gareth has been responsible for analytical teams covering a range of economic and strategic issues, including global economic trends, energy and resources, climate change, cyber, and forms of transnational crime. In his current role, Gareth leads ONI’s program of outreach to business, state and territories, academics and think tanks. That includes off-record discussions of global strategic and economic trends and their implications for Australian security and prosperity.
Dr Elsina Wainwright AM, Senior Strategic Adviser, Assessments, ONI
Dr Elsina Wainwright AM is Senior Strategic Adviser, Assessments at the Office of National Intelligence (ONI). From 2019-2022 she was Deputy Head of Assessments at ONI, leading the Geopolitical Division. She has worked in the private sector, think tanks, and academia as well as government. Previous roles include with Sydney University’s United States Studies Centre, New York University's Center on International Cooperation, and the management consulting firm McKinsey.
