Asia Society Australia and the University of Sydney will host six visiting senior journalists from China next Monday 6 October for a lunchtime roundtable in Sydney. We warmly invite you to join us as we discuss the current trends in our bilateral trade and investment relationship. With a special focus on trade, in particular, four key areas: research and innovation, health and medical, food and beverage and consumer products.

Ms Bai Tianliang is currently Economics Editor of People’s Daily Overseas Edition. Prior to this role, she was Editor of People’s Daily’s Economic and Social Department. She has written extensively on economic and social issues for the newspaper and has won several awards for her reporting.

Mr Gao writes cover stories for CBN Weekly, with a focus on tech, business, culture, and entertainment. Prior to joining CBN Weekly, he was an investigative journalist for Oriental Outlook, a weekly publication run by Xinhua News Agency.
With a weekly circulation of 385,000, CBN Weekly is one of the best-selling business magazines in China and is very popular among business professionals. CBN Weekly focuses on Chinese businesses and international companies that are active in the Chinese market. Its mobile-phone app has been downloaded over 8.5 million times. On Chinese social media, CBN Weekly has over 35 million followers.
ZHENG Qingting
Reporter, 21st Century Business Herald
Ms Zheng has worked as an international affairs reporter at the 21st Century Business Herald since 2015. She covers political and economic issues in Asia, the Middle East, the EU, Latin America and Africa. From 2011 to 2015, she worked as an international news editor for People’s Daily Online, the online portal of People’s Daily. She holds a master degree in Modern Middle Eastern and North African Studies from the University of Michigan, U.S.
The 21st Century Business Herald is an influential financial and business newspaper, headquartered in the southern city of Guangzhou. Published daily, it has a circulation of 762,000 and an estimated readership of 2.6 million. It is sometimes considered as China’s Wall Street Journal by its peers.

Mr Chen is an international affairs editor at Jiemian, with a focus on business, politics, and current affairs. Before joining Jiemian in 2014, he worked at the Chinese edition of Bloomberg Businessweek.
Jiemian is a popular news website focused on business, finance, and tech. Established in 2014, it aims to become China’s Bloomberg. Its mobile-phone app has been downloaded 68 million times, attracting 5.3 million daily active readers. It enjoys a large following on Chinese social media too, with 9 million followers. Their readers are mostly investors, business people and well-educated, high-earning professionals.
CHENG Jieping
Editor, Tencent Finance
At Sina, Ms Cheng edits and writes stories on financial and economic issues. Prior to joining Sina, she worked at state broadcaster CCTV and tech company Qunar.com.
Tencent Finance is a leading financial news provider that is part of Tencent, one of China’s biggest tech companies. It has a large mainstream user base, including well-educated professionals, business insiders and investors.
