VIEW EVENT DETAILSAsia Society Australia is pleased to invite you to an Executive Briefing with Mr. Graham Fletcher, Deputy Secretary of the International and Security Group at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
This briefing is part of our new corporate member event series The Bigger Picture, which brings together senior government and business leaders in a small closed-door forum to discuss the key issues shaping Australia’s prosperity and security in Asia.
Mr. Fletcher will discuss the current geopolitical landscape in Asia and key foreign policy issues Australia is facing in the region. Having recently returned as our Ambassador in Beijing, he will also reflect on Australia - China relations and China’s foreign policy in Asia.
Following his remarks, participants will be invited to ask questions and share their own perspectives.

About our Speaker
Graham Fletcher, Deputy Secretary, International and Security Group, Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet
Graham commenced as Deputy Secretary, International and Security Group at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in February 2024.
His previous career was spent in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, which he joined as a graduate in 1983. His principal focus was Australian policy towards China. He served in Beijing on four occasions, including as Ambassador from August 2019 to December 2023.
Graham was also posted to the United States, as Deputy Head of Mission in the Washington embassy during 2011-13, and to New Caledonia (1992-94).
Graham has a BA with honours in History from the University of Sydney.
